Frequently asked questions...

Q. What languages do you translate?
A. We translate from English to French and from French to English.

Q. Do you process files in different formats?
A. We mostly work on text material and leave formatting and publishing to the customer’s care. We work with a variety of formats, but these may require additional work and extra fees. You may wish to avoid these by supplying us with one of the preferred formats (.doc, .xls, .txt, etc.)

Q. Are there extra fees for urgent projects?
A. Yes. This will depend on the deadline, the technical nature of the text as well as its volume. We will provide you with a detailed quote once we have all the pertinent information.

Q. What methods of payment are accepted?
A. You can pay by cheque or bank transfer upon credit approval. The invoice is payable upon receipt in Canadian dollars.

Q. Do you provide proofreading services and, if so, what are the costs?
A. Yes, we do provide proofreading services. We usually charge an hourly rate ($40.00/hour). However, if the quality of the text is very low, as is often the case, we will have to return to the original text. If the correction process is as time-consuming as a translation, we will then charge our regular translation rates.

Q. Do I need to provide a glossary?
A. A glossary is often required for the translation of very technical texts, to ensure accuracy and consistency. If you have one, please send it!
